Marriage is Interdependence

 God placed examples of interdependence in several places: Almost all body parts are in twos (legs, arms, eyes, ears, nostrils, etc). We also see this in the relationship between Jesus and the church, which is His reference for a marriage relationship. God created us to need each other. His word said, it's not good for man to be alone; come let's reason together; two are better than one.... So why do we treat our spouses like they are not important to us. A separation is like a tearing apart of a whole (one) unit. See yourselves as one. If she's hurt, you're hurt; if he's broke, you're broke, if she's happy, you're happy; if he's sick, you're sick. You're no longer 2 but 1. Walk and work in sync.  Talk things over. Don't keep secrets from each other. Enjoy each others' company. Make decisions together. Pray together. Save together. Are you a Giver or a Getter?

Are you a giver or a getter in your relationship and in life generally? Givers delight in meeting the needs of their partners, while getters are more concerned about having their own needs met. A giver puts a smile on the face of the receiver, gladens the heart of the receiver, gladens God's heart as well and in return, the giver gets returns in good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. Imagine a house of 2 givers... imagine the abundance of love, joy, peace, blessing, favour, goodwill, etc., flowing in that home. As the husband gives love, he gets more love in return..as the wife gives peace, she gets more peace in return...as one gives respect, they get more respect in return, etc. It's a cycle of overflowing bliss in such a home. If you've been on the "getting only" side, have a rethink as to how much more you could get, if only you could GIVE. God gave his only son and see how many sons and daughters He has in return...
