Marriage is Interdependence

God placed examples of interdependence in several places:

Almost all body parts are in twos (legs, arms, eyes, ears, nostrils, etc).

We also see this in the relationship between Jesus and the church, which is His reference for a marriage relationship.

God created us to need each other. His word said, it's not good for man to be alone; come let's reason together; two are better than one....

So why do we treat our spouses like they are not important to us. A separation is like a tearing apart of a whole (one) unit.

See yourselves as one. If she's hurt, you're hurt; if he's broke, you're broke, if she's happy, you're happy; if he's sick, you're sick.

You're no longer 2 but 1.

Walk and work in sync.

Talk things over.

Don't keep secrets from each other.

Enjoy each others' company.

Make decisions together.

Pray together.

Save together.

Plan together.

Have one voice.

Be united.

A better society starts with better homes. Let's build great marriages.

Love is always a choice...🤗

  1. Sometimes I have to remind myself we are actually a team. So no stress in trying to prove otherwise. The world is made up different nations, nations are made up of societies . This is a ln encouraging read.

Sexlessness is a Sin!!!

Hello married people. Long post alert but please try to read it through. I stumbled into a playful conversation with a couple in church on Sunday who said they were considering leaving a Christian couples group due to our perceived 'vulgarity' especially in the area of sex and bedroom references. 😳😅 Of course, while I could tell they meant it playfully, I couldn't shake the feeling that many who silently observe in the group carry the same impression and would probably whisper in private conversations that "are you sure these people are born again?" To be honest, I personally cringed at times we have had to make some of these references but we have increasingly found that it is absolutely necessary, especially when we consider the pressing condition of many married relationships.  In 75%+ Christian marriages we have had to counsel and in reports reaching us from other counsellors in our church and many more from outside we have discovered that there is an epidem...

Be a financially prudent wife, be a blessing.

The rate at which prices have been skyrocketing in Nigeria in the past few months....our source can be none other than God. God makes provision through man and how man manages the resources God gives to him is very crucial.  The husband has a primary responsibility to provide for the home, so while his income might not change in this period, the wife has to spend with knowledge and understanding. How can we make these better financial decisions at this time? - Both husband and wife should be totally transparent about the state of their finances. This way, the wife knows how much she can spend without putting the husband in debt - Create a budget for shopping and restrain yourself from going overboard by more than a maximum of 5/10%. We know sometimes you'd spend more than you planned but have limits please. - Look for alternatives to your regular items. E.g, if you usually buy an imported version of a product and the dollar rate is making it very pricey, look for a good Niger...

Praying as a Couple yields greater results.

The physical side of things is the tip of the iceberg that you see above the sea, while the spiritual side of things is the large mass of the iceberg buried below the surface of the water and therefore not seen. However, that lower and larger mass that is not seen has a larger impact on the ship than the tip at the top. While there are physical activities to making a marriage work, there are spiritual activities to be done and those have even larger impact. God, who is unseen, created marriage, the world and everything in it. He has the best knowledge on how things can work to be successful. Have you tried praying about a disagreement and seen that it turned out good? Have you ever searched for something and then said a short prayer and noticed that you found it almost immediately after? Praying moves unseen things in our favour. We just prayed and boom it happened. Now, there's a higher dimension, the prayer of agreement. When you and your spouse agree and pray, the result is mul...
